The Gandharva Loka International Orchestra and I have been invited to perform a unique concert in Bangladesh on December 13th. This special invitation has been extended to us by Jagari, the UN Resident Representative, the highest diplomatic position in the country; and Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, the most celebrated singer of Tagore in Bengal. I look forward to performing with both Rezwana who is such an amazing singer, and with this wonderful collection of musicians from around the world!

A night of East/West, world and improv jazz. Expect the unexpected. Joining me this evening will be the fabulous R. ERIC JOHNSON (as Uli is in Las Vegas) to be my partner in music and creative spontaneities on keys & keyboard. Eric’s professional musical career has spanned over 35 yrs. performing with diverse artists as ’Mountain’, Sam Rivers, Leroy Jenkins, L. Subramaniam, Bo Didley, Robert Palmer, ’NYC Opera’, ‘Houston Grand Opera’, Brooklyn Philharmonic, ’Skymusic’, Bill T. Jones, Alvin Ailey and the ’National Ballet of Italy’. His compositions have been performed at the "American Music Festival" in Geneva, La Scala and Lincoln Center. Eric Johnson’s Film and TV credits include documentaries for PBS and Channel Five, "School Daze", "Storm King", "The Undertaker" and HBO specials. He has been a member of ASCAP since 1976 and is in Who’s Who of American Composers.__The talented percussionist, T0DD ISLER, is a drummer, teacher and author. Todd is based in New York City (20+ years) and active in the jazz and world music scene. He has appeared on hundreds of recordings. In 2008 Todd toured Japan with Francis Mbappe and also joined Mike Gordon¹s band (of Phish fame). www.toddisler.com . __The incredible NAREN BUDHAKAR will be on tabla. Naren was born in Pune, India to a musical family. His aesthetic sense allows him to complement his percussion to many different music forms. Since moving to New York City in 2002, Nathan has performed with artists such as Mark Murphy, Maria Muldaur, Bonnie Tyler, Vernon Reed, James Wlliams, Ralf Lalama, Lafayette Harris, Joel Frahm, Roy Campbell, Jonathan Kreisberg, Bruce Cox, Allison Miller, Ari Hoenig, and is currently touring/recording with guitarist Alex Skolnick He also toured with Mr. Skolnick throughout the US, Canada, and Europe and is also on Skolnick’s current release, Last Day In Paradise (Magna-Carta records). www.nathanpeck.com. __Our guest vocalist for the night, MELISSA STYLIANOU, is a formidable talent in Canada, with nominations as Jazz Vocalist of the Year at the National Jazz Awards (2003, 2004 and 2006) and as Composer of the Year in 2006.
