Having built her reputation as the producer of the Hepcat radio show, the first and last word in underground music, Mamiko Motto’s love of hip hop, jazz, techno, house and cosmic beats has won her devoted listeners all over the globe and lead her to play with some of the worlds finest DJs like Carl Craig, 4 Hero, Theo Parrish and Domu. In 2002 she joined forces with Pablo Valentino from Faces records, and started to organise parties in Antwerp and Brussels. During her recent sabbatical to London in 2006, She ran several club nights as part of the Other Worlds family, and started her radio show ‘didureally’ on Samurai FM. She looks after international promotions for the Kindred Spirits label, while also acting as head co-ordinator for online music hub Samurai FM. She also plays at and organises the monthly Rednose Distrikt club nights, as well as the Big Kisses parties with artist Lil’ Shy. Her last performance and tour alongside HUDSON MOHAWKE amazed and left the crowd wanting more (Hudson will be in town as well so maybe we can convince him to MC, heh), well here she is, back in full force, MAMIKO MOTTO!!

This December veteran kiwi electronic act Pitch Black are joined by London based artists International Observer and Tapes for six Australasian shows. Pitch Black have just returned from touring the US, Canada and Europe, while International Observer makes his first visit to Australia since touring with Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry & Mad Professor in 2002. International Observer is better known as Tom Bailey, member of 80’s electro-pop duo ‘Thompson Twins’ and renown producer of acts such as Killing Joke & Debbie Harry. Since the mid 1990’s he has been releasing deep, melodic dub as International Observer and has just released his fourth album ‘Felt’ on independent Australian label Vitamin. These dub/electronica heavyweights are joined by Hackney based riddim renegade Tapes whose debut ep on ‘digital laptop reggae’ label Jahtari (www.jahtari.org) is currently sitting pretty in the Boomkat Top 10. Each show boasts a solid lineup of locals guests including Spikey Tee, DJ Damon (aka The Nomad), DJ Katch, Nick Taylor and members of Shapeshifter.
