Inspired by his father, music educator Jim Culbertson, Brian Culbertson has been a fast and fierce study of music, gravitating to all styles of dynamic music as long as it was expertly played by artists ranging from Chicago, David Sanborn and Sting to The Brecker Brothers and Maynard Ferguson. Since his 1994 debut Long Night Out, Brian has been credited with bringing a youthful yet no less masterful energy to popular instrumental music with hit albums and singles. His sixth album Nice & Slow (2001) topped Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart for six weeks straight. And its follow-up, Come on Up (2003) included his blazing cover of Earth Wind & Fire’s "Serpentine Fire," impressing Maurice White enough to want to work with him. You’ve heard of the Ohio Players. Brian Culbertson is the Chicago Player - a keyboardist, trombonist, writer, arranger, producer and the most exciting live performing instrumentalist on the scene today. The proof is all over his milestone tenth project, Bringing Back The Funk, a historic and completely unprecedented revisiting to the land of the sho’ nuff uncut `70s-style funk of ages. The "historic" declaration is not hype - for the first time ever, legendary old school funk masters from nearly every signature soul band and region of the country have united under Brian and executive producer Maurice White (founder of Earth Wind & Fire) to once again lay the righteous and real stuff on a deeply needy world. Each year, the 45 School of Rock branches around the country give more than 1,000 concerts at established venues including The Whiskey, BB King’s and Carnegie Hall and at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Zappanale and the annual SORFest. 237 West 42nd St. Bet. 7th + 8th Ave. Times Square, NYC, New York 10036 - $30 Adv + $35 Day + $50 VIP

The Texas guitar tradition runs deep. It’s a gutsy school of blues playing, marked by thick tones, aggressive attack and tons of technique, all delivered in a flamboyant, swaggering style that is endemic to the Lone Star State. From T-Bone Walker and Clarence Gatemouth Brown on through Albert Collins and Freddie King, Billy Gibbons and the late Stevie Ray Vaughan, the tradition of the Texas guitar slinger has lived on. One name that ranks atop that exclusive list is Johnny Winter, the international ambassador for rocking Texas blues for the last thirty years. His latest Grammy nominated disc titled "I’m A Bluesman" out on Virgin Records, adds to his Texas-sized reputation. For this release, Johnny has again paired with his long-time producer Dick Shurman (Robert Cray, Albert Collins, Roy Buchanan), as well as Tom Hambridge (Susan Tedeschi, George Thorogood). Performing with him on this CD are members of his scorching road-tested touring band consisting of guitarist Paul Nelson, bassist Scott Spray, and newly added drummer Vito Liuzzi with guest appearances by such friends as ace harmonica player James Montgomery, keyboardist Reese Wynans (from Stevie Ray Vaughan’s celebrated backing group Double Trouble) among others.

For more than 30 years, ROBERT GORDON has been one of the defining musical influences of his generation. Delivering his vocals with power and intensity, he has created a unique rock & roll attitude – driven by love, hurt, sadness and absolute conviction. Long before the first rehearsals of The Stray Cats and the numerous rockabilly bands that followed, ROBERT GORDON reinvented the rockabilly sound of the ‘50s and introduced it to the punk rock audiences of the ‘70s. After a stint in bands like the Tuff Darts in the ‘70s, Gordon pursued a solo career and began performing raucous rockabilly, the music he grew up on in Washington, D.C. He paired up with veteran guitarist Link Wray for his first two albums, “Robert Gordon with Link Wray and Fresh Fish Special”. Fresh Fish Special also featured Elvis Presley back-up singers The Jordanaires. These critically-acclaimed records were released during punk’s heyday and were subsequently embraced by that scene. Besides his own songs, Gordon covered songs made famous by Johnny Horton, Bill Monroe, Gene Vincent and Billy Lee Riley, as well as songs by Bruce Springsteen, Marshall Crenshaw and John Lennon.

Together - they created some of the most memorable performances of Zappa’s music, & we will bring them to you on this tour, performing songs they are each known for, as well as songs from classic Zappa albums they recorded together. One of Frank’s greatest skills was -- his incredible sixth sense in identifying something magical in each of the musicians he hired. With the support of the FANS, we choose to do this with the "Alumni"....the people who were there with Frank as the music was created, recorded and performed

From their first LP in 1973, to their powerful stage presence today, the Marshall Tucker Band has played countless concert venues around the world. Years of rigorous tour schedules earned the band the respect of critics and countless dedicated fans. With hit singles like "Heard It In a Love Song," "Fire On The Mountain," "Can’t You See," and "Take The Highway," The Marshall Tucker Band earned seven gold and three platinum albums while they were on the Capricorn Records label. During the 90’s, the MTB scored four hit singles on Billboard’s country chart and one on Billboard’s gospel chart. Their music has also been featured on the soundtracks of movies such as Smokey and the Bandit, The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper, and Shipwrecked. The Marshall Tucker Band got its start in Spartanburg, S.C. when Gray teamed up with Tommy Caldwell and Toy Caldwell, Paul T. Riddle, George McCorkle and Jerry Eubanks, borrowing the name "Marshall Tucker" from a piano tuner who’s name was found on a key ring in their old rehearsal space. In 1972, they signed with Capricorn Records, the same label that guided The Allman Brothers Band, Wet Willie, and others to national fame. The MTB opened shows for The Allman Brothers in 1973, and the following year, they began to headline their own shows across America due to the platinum-plus sales of their debut album. In years to come, The Marshall Tucker Band would wow critics and influence major country acts like Alabama, The Kentucky Headhunters, Confederate Railroad, and Travis Tritt with its definitive blend of rock, rhythm & blues, jazz, country, and gospel. Now, thanks to the expanding scope of today’s music, a new generation of fans is learning what the rest of their fans have known for so long- that good music knows no boundaries.

237 West 42nd St. Bet. 7th + 8th Ave. Times Square, NYC, New York 10036 - $25 + $45 VIP

Against all odds, The Radiators have kept their original line up together for 28 years, bringing their New Orleans-infused blend of swamp rock and rhythm and blues to fans throughout the United States and Europe. With a constantly changing "book" of more than 300 original songs, as well as hundreds more covers, The Radiators never play the same show twice. As a result, they are followed around the country by a devoted group of "fishheads", who use meetings at live shows, as well as the internet to discuss various aspects of the band’s music. Their latest record, Dreaming Out Loud, is an accurate and intriguing self-portrait of these New Orleans natives; heartbroken by the devastation Hurricane Katrina brought to their beloved city, but not hopeless. Determined to record the album in their hometown, The Radiators teamed up with producer Mark Bingham at Piety St. Recording N.O.L.A. during the city’s historical 2006 Mardi Gras celebration, when the New Orleans community gathered together to remind the world that the city and its traditions would in fact survive. There and then the band laid the tracks for Dreaming Out Loud – a New Orleans-flavored "war cry" that only The Radiators could assemble.

Most fans feel the band sounds better than ever--that the musical maturity and skill combined with over three decades of playing together has made BÖC a prime example of rock and roll at its best. Throughout Blue Öyster Cult’s impressive career, the band has earned a well-deserved reputation as "the thinking man’s heavy metal band." BÖC came out of Long Island, NY, and immediately delighted critics and fans. Not only was BÖC’s music hard-hitting, the subject matter and lyrics of its songs were fresh and clever -- particularly for a style of music not exactly revered for its braininess. Science fiction, horror, violence and tongue-in-cheek humor are common threads in much of BÖC’s material. Their mainstream breakthrough was the explosion of 1976’s ’Agents of Fortune’ and the hauntingly immortal smash hit single "(Don’t Fear) The Reaper." Subsequent albums further cemented Blue Öyster Cult’s status as one of the finest hard-rock bands in history, with mammoth hit singles like "Godzilla" and "Burnin’ For You."

237 West 42nd St. Bet. 7th + 8th Ave. Times Square, NYC, New York 10036 - $46.50 Adv + $50 Day + $65 VIP

Since their 1986 debut album Strong Persuader, the Robert Cray Band has earned a double platinum album and two gold albums, and has been honored with five Grammy Awards, 11 Grammy nominations and countless other honors. Robert Cray’s This Time – the first studio album on singer-songwriter-guitarist Cray’s own imprint Nozzle Records, distributed by Vanguard Records – arrives at a vital juncture in the musician’s career, marked by creative renewal and a key reunion with an old performing partner. The five-time Grammy Award winner summarized 35 years of mastery on the debut Nozzle release Live From Across the Pond (2006), an electrifying two-CD concert set drawn from a series of shows (opening for Eric Clapton) at London’s Royal Albert Hall. When the time came to follow up that widely praised collection with a studio recording, Cray viewed it as an opportunity to move his sound in other directions. He found exactly what he was looking for by turning to one of his oldest friends and colleagues: bassist Richard Cousins, whose tenure with the Robert Cray Band began with its barnstorming regional origins in Eugene, Oregon, in 1974 and extended through 1991, encompassing such early high-water marks as Strong Persuader (1986) and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (1988), both winners of the best contemporary blues performance Grammy.

March, 19 2010 11:30 PM - U2 Tribute: THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE
237 West 42nd St. Bet. 7th + 8th Ave. Times Square, NYC, New York 10036 - $15 Adv + $20 thru 1/1 + $25 After 1/1

Unforgettable Fire, or "UF", was born on New Years Day in 1995 as one of the very first U2 tribute bands to ever perform in America. After over thirteen years of playing in some of the most prestigious venues on the East Coast, UF has formed a reputation among many to be one of the closest experiences to being at an actual live U2 show. The members of UF are also very dedicated fans of U2, and will not settle for anything less than complete authenticity. In addition to performing a very impressive array of U2 material from pre-Boy to the most recent No Line On The Horizon and beyond, the band does everything in their power (from wardrobe to lighting) to recreate the live U2 concert setting for their audiences. One of UF’s last founding members from 1995, drummer George (Larry) Levesanos, still performs with the band. George is a veteran drummer on the New York City music scene and has performed in many other projects before forming UF. Joining the band in the summer of 2001 was singer Tony (Bono) Russo. Over the years, Tony has brought UF to a new level of authenticity as he is regarded as one of the country’s top Bono look-a-likes. In late 2002, bassist Craig (Adam) Kiell added his top notch musicianship, experience, and stage presence to the band and has been a crucial part of the solid rhythm section ever since. Late 2004 brought Mick (Edge) Normoyle to the band to complete the last piece of its puzzle in its quest to have the truest, most authentic live U2 sound. All four members of UF are talented musicians in their own right, but together they are committed to bring their audiences the best possible U2 show that they can deliver. Vonda’s newest release From the Sun (producted by Mitchell Froom) leans toward a stripped-down, R&B vibe...ballads and rollicking good times. As the voice of Ally McBeal, Vonda sold more than 12 million records worldwide throughout the span of the hit TV show. From the Sun finds her indie roots firmly planted. Infusing her deep and melodic songwriting style with splashes of powerful vocals, From the Sun is also Vonda’s first studio release since 2003 and her fourth collaboration with legendary producer Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Elvis Costello, Randy Newman). Froom describes the album as "modern-day soul" with Vonda’s solid piano playing and soulful, blues-inspired voice driving the tracks. At the age of 14, Vonda Shepard began performing original material at small venues on the L.A. club scene. Having released five of her own studio albums of original material since then and four soundtracks for the series “Ally McBeal,” as well as having sold over 12 million albums worldwide, Vonda Shepard is without any doubt among today’s very best singer/songwriters. For five years Vonda Shepard was the featured performer and musical voice on "Ally McBeal. "Searchin’ My Soul" was used as the series’ theme, but Shepard herself became a regular cast member, playing the house performer at the local nightclub the program’s title character and her co-workers frequented.
